collapsing geography: change is hard

    It doesn't surprise me a bit that the Obama administration is doing something to help the entertainment industry. As with any politician, regardless of political persuasion, job one is staying in power. Doling out favors to supporters is one way to do so.
    Call me cynical, but I believe politicians buy votes. Why do we have a deficit? Because vote buying is more important to a politician than the economic future of their constituency.
    I agree that Obama's election, even if it is the true legacy of Karl Rove, creates some opportunities. But I don't believe he is any less likely than any other politician to always keep at least one eye focused on his next election. Do you?
